The art studio at the Social and Leisure Department of the Integrated Centralized Services for the Population of the Central District of St. Petersburg, located at 11 Liteiny Street, has been operating since 2013. During this time, under the motto “Never Too Late,” sixteen courses and twelve group exhibitions have been held, students’ professional skills have grown, their social circle has expanded, and a team has formed capable of solving a wide variety of creative problems.
Of utmost importance is the fact that each studio member maintains their own distinct individuality and unique worldview. This is greatly facilitated by the teaching method of the studio’s director, Svetlana Dmitrievna Korovina, a member of the Union of Artists, a distinguished artist, a renowned tapestry master, and a teacher with many years of experience.
“Never Too Late” is a creative project in which artists present works in watercolor, oil, pastel, and pencil. The subjects of the pieces are diverse, including urban and natural landscapes, still lifes, floral arrangements, and genre scenes. The artists draw inspiration from plein air paintings in the most picturesque areas around St. Petersburg: Pavlovsk, Pushkin, Gatchina, Peterhof, as well as lesser-known but no less beautiful places, from Ropsha to Shlisselburg and Kronstadt.
